teaching methods

The teachers assigned to me were very enthusiastic and interactive in class. Ibu Yuli ensures that the students are not just listeners but are also participative in the class discussion. In the middle of her discussion, she asked two of her students to stand up to perform a certain activity which is related to their lesson. After that, she asked a student to get hot water for her example in class. She uses realia so that the students will not just imaging or see it on the board but instead, they can experience it firsthand in class. I was able to see how the students are amazed by the realia shown by the teacher. She usually uses learning by doing. She seems to be really close with the students because I felt how she love and care for her students which manifested to the way that her students reciprocate it to her. Another thing is that the teacher had a group activity wherein the students have to present in front of the class. It was a very good activity because it enables the student

Pak Andi, the math teacher, is more on the traditional way of teaching. He uses the blackboard and pen to show to students how to solve a certain problem. Even though he uses the traditional way, he still ensures that the students are participating because he also taught in a very interactive way. He uses a mic so the students could hear his voice loud and clear.

learning materials and innovation

The school provides projector and speakers for the teachers. It is really very helpful in catching the students attention in class although, its absence will not greatly affect the learnings of the child because it stills depend on the teacher on how he or she will deliver the lesson well without the use of technology. Both of my teachers didn't use projector during my observation. Pak Andi used microphone during his discussion while Ibu Yuli used realia to enable students to learn the lesson by letting them have personal experience with the lesson instead of letting them use their imagination.

sources of learning and technology used by the teachers

The teachers has a different book from the one that the students use. The teacher's book has a method of teaching in it depending on the lesson that you will teach. It contains the learning objectives for a certain theme or lesson during a period of time. It is very helpful in the teacher's part because they no longer need to think of more details on how to deliver their lesson but it is not as complete as the one that is on the lesson plan. Nonetheless, it is still a very essential source of learning because the students' book only contains the content of the lesson but the teachers' book has methods on how to teach the lesson.

The school also has a library where the teachers could search for the book/s that they need in delivering their lesson. It would be good to have not only one source because it would enable not only the teachers but also the students to have a wider knowledge about the subject matter that will be discussed in class.

authentic assessment

Ibu Yuli gave the students a group activity to assess their learning in class. She gave them time to think of what to present in front of the class. After the given time, the students were ask to present their output in front of the class. They reported as if they're like teachers. Some of them even gives questions to their classmates as they report in front of the class. After all of the groups finish presenting their output, the teacher asked them to write on a piece of paper who they think has the best presentation then, the teacher counted the students' votes and announced the winner. The winner got a price from their teacher.

Pak Andi gave his students a worksheet about their lesson in Mathematics to measure how much they've learned from the discussion. The students worked independently on their seats and when they are having a confusion in a certain problem on their worksheet, they ask Pak Andi and what he did was to have a quick recap of his discussion.
